House and Senate Dems unveiled our Democratic Values Agenda for the 2018 legislative session.

February is Black History Month. Since 1976, Black History Month recognizes the role of African Americans in U.S. history and celebrates their many achievements and contributions.

I was proud to join Secretary of the State Denise W. Merrill and many of my colleagues to announce a voter registration drive to focus on registering Puerto Rican families who have resettled in Connecticut in the wake of the devastation created by Hurricane Maria.

The Special Transportation Fund is drying up fast. We are looking at a scenario where we will run out of money for our transportation infrastructure. Electronic tolls are the answer.

Since the days of the Civil Rights Movement from the mid-1950s through the late 1960s, we have come a long way, but there is still much work to be done to eradicate injustice and make the American dream a reality for all.

A large state investment is coming to the South End. Next week, the Bond Commission will sign off on $1.2 million to remediate and redevelop polluted industrial sites.

I’m so proud of the efforts of the Waterbury community to support our fellow citizens who have arrived here seeking aid from the hurricanes that devastated communities this year. 

In Waterbury, more than 30,000 households have begun using their new green & yellow recycling carts.  By recycling more we will all be saving more.
