Reproductive Rights Caucus Priorities

On Friday, my colleagues on the Reproductive Rights Caucus and I unveiled our priorities for the 2024 legislative session. I am so proud of the way we collaborated to develop this agenda among our caucus. We will continue to fight tirelessly to ensure that every person in Connecticut can obtain the full scale of reproductive healthcare they need and deserve.

Some of our priorities include:

  • Expanding student access to reproductive healthcare on public university campuses in Connecticut
  • Aligning fertility healthcare insurance coverage with the medical standard of care, which clearly includes LGBTQ+ and single people, among others
  • Ensuring patients experiencing pregnancy-related complications have access to timely, evidence-based, and compassionate care

We also want to ensure the Connecticut Reproductive Defense Freedom Act explicitly protects providers prescribing medication via telehealth regardless of the patient’s location. In telehealth, the provider has no way to verify that the patient is here in Connecticut. We want to make sure that our providers are protected and shielded from legal repercussions as they provide telehealth care that is legal in Connecticut.
