Below I've included the school calendar as well as events for people to pick up school supplies, free of charge, from various community organizations.
Briefly, the events, listed in chronological order are the following:
- Back to Basics, Reed Elementary School, 33 Griggs St., Aug. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. 500 free backpacks, bouncy house, free lunch, family fun.
- Waterbury Youth Services 28th Annual Back to School Rally, Fulton Park (Pine Street entrance), Aug. 21, noon to 2 p.m. Free resources, school supplies, refreshments.
- The Blessing in Library Park, Aug. 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Free bookbags, bike giveaway, free household products, as well as ice cream, face painting and balloons.
Also, please note the information I've included for children to receive health care as we head back to school.
