This year, more than ever, it is critical that every Connecticut resident responds to the Census. The most recent data shows Branford's self-response at 68.4% and the entire state at 64.9%. The Census counts every person living in the country – citizens, noncitizens and green-card holders.

I hope you and your loved ones have had a chance to enjoy the nice warm weather and are excited for the days ahead. As we continue to monitor the ever-evolving stream of information related to the pandemic, I am encouraged by Connecticut's declining numbers as well as the overall cooperation from residents.

Now that Connecticut is leading as one of the states with the lowest coronavirus rates in nation, we must keep up the pace by wearing our facial coverings, maintaining social distancing and following all the public safety guidelines that our leaders are recommending.
