Examining Lamont Budget Plan

March 1, 2019

Now that my legislative colleagues and I have Governor Lamont’s budget proposal in hand, officials from state departments and agencies have begun giving their budget presentations in public hearings before the Appropriations Committee of which I am a member.

The hearings are continuing into this week, and I want to encourage everyone to participate in the budget process so that the final budget proposal we vote on in the spring best meets the needs of people throughout Connecticut.

If you’re interested in following or attending any of the hearings, click here for the Appropriations Committee hearing schedule. You can read a synopsis of the budget by clicking this link.

During the budget presentations state officials will provide details of the governor’s proposal and answer questions posed by legislators. Afterward, the committee will allow the public to speak. Click this link for guidelines on testifying and submitting testimony.

I know everyone wants us to develop a state budget that reflects the values of Connecticut but the only way we can do that is with your help.

With your interest and involvement we can develop a state budget that makes Connecticut an even better place to live, work and raise a family.
