As you know, I am a Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee, which, among other things, has cognizance of all matters relating to appropriations and the budgets of state agencies. It is an honor to serve on this committee. The role comes with a lot of responsibility and I'm ready for the challenge.

With Sen. Cathy Osten on Monday, I was proud to chair the Appropriations Committee's Public Hearing and Meeting on the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Connecticut State Police Union, where a 2.5% general wage hike and step increase were approved for the next fiscal year. 

This was also an opportunity to ask a question about whether there is a stigma around mental health and our officers that would be a barrier to getting help.
