New Laws Effective January 1
December 22, 2023As we ring in the new year, there are some laws that become effective on January 1 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session addressing key issue areas including early voting, health and mental health, and online privacy and data protection.
State Capitol Update For The Week of December 15
December 15, 2023As we head into the final days of 2023, things are both speeding up and slowing down in the Capitol. Today we had the final Bond Commission meeting of the year, which included funding for electric buses in Region One (in Sharon, Cornwall, and HVRHS), the purchase of a new building for the Friendly Hands Food Bank in Torrington, and repairs to a dam in Goshen (among many other things). The room was packed, and it provided a nice opportunity to wish everyone Joyful Holidays and a Happy New Year.
