I'm glad I was able to join Sen. Mae Flexer and Rep. Caroline Simmons to highlight Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). I spoke about my involvement with the Connecticut Alliance to End Sexual Violence's 'Where Do You Stand?' program to engage Connecticut men in being active in the prevention of sexual violence in their communities.

I was happy to join the University of Connecticut Chapter of the American Association of University Professors today to help present their 2016 Excellence Awards. The Excellence Awards are given to faculty who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to teaching and scholarship.

Yesterday, State Senator Mae Flexer and I welcomed overwhelming student and other support for this year’s Affirmative Consent bill during its public hearing before the Higher Education Committee.

I was invited to take part in a conversation on WNPR's Where We Live on affirmative consent.

Mountain Dairy Farms, which has been run by ten generations of the Stearns family, conveyed the farm’s development rights to the state. More than 82 acres of the 243-year-old farm will be permanently protected and will be forever available for agricultural production under the state’s Farmland Preservation Program.

Mansfield received a $243,750 state grant toward the $375,000 cost of purchasing 61 acres on Meadowbrook Lane in Mansfield.

I want to thank the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) for naming me a 2015 Legislative Champion for my environmental advocacy this year. It is truly an honor to have my efforts recognized. I am also proud to say that I have earned a lifetime environmental score of 95% from the organization.

Late last week, Sen. Mae Flexer, Rep. Susan Johnson and I held a press conference outside Windham Hospital alongside current and former hospital employees protesting Hartford Healthcare’s proposed service and position cuts at our own Windham Hospital.
