Department of Transportation update: Safety Improvement Project on Rt. 7

I received the notice below from the CT Department of Transportation about a project on Route 7 in Norwalk. There will be lane closures between July 20th and September 11th during this construction, so please read the notice to avoid the traffic!

Safety Improvement Project, Guiderail and Attenuator Installation on Route 7 North and South in Norwalk

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a safety improvement project will be performed on Route 7 north and south in Norwalk.
The project consists of guiderail and attenuator installation on a 2.16 mile segment of Route 7 north and south in Norwalk.  This work is scheduled to occur Monday, July 20, 2020, through Friday, September 11, 2020.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s safety improvement program and is being performed by Atlas Industrial Services.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 7 north and south between Exit 2 to Route 123 (including exit ramps) and  US 7 Grist Mill Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
