Absentee Ballots for the Upcoming Primary

July 25, 2022

State-wide primary elections for both Democrats and Republicans will be held August 9th. Absentee ballots are already available. You can get an application for an absentee ballot at your city or town hall in the town clerk's office or from the Secretary of the State's website Absentee Voting (ct.gov) and follow the instructions.

A registered voter can get an absentee ballot for these reasons:

  • Sickness, including the continued presence of a sickness such as the COVID-19 virus
  • Active service in the Military
  • Absence from the town for a period of time on election day
  • Physical disability
  • Religious Beliefs
  • Duties as an election official at a polling place other than your own during all of the hours of voting

I supported recent updates of the absentee ballot laws to make it easier, more convenient, and safer for you to exercise your right to vote. In Connecticut, every vote counts because every vote is counted.
