Dear Neighbor,

I’d like you to be aware that the United States Coast Guard will begin the work of lead abatement and soil remediation at the Stratford Lighthouse. This work is necessary to maintain the historic lighthouse for decades to come.

Work will consist of removal of the lead-based paint on the exterior of the lighthouse and powerhouse, re-painting of the two structures, and the excavation and disposal of impacted soil.
It is anticipated that work on the lighthouse will take place from March through June of this year. If you have any questions or concerns about the work, please contact the USCG Project Manager, Jason Hagerty, at (401) 736-1746 or Jason.Hagerty@uscg.mil.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me at the Capitol at 860-842-0363 or email me at Joseph.Gresko@cga.ct.gov.
