New State Funding for Mental Health in Stamford Schools

August 22, 2023

I'm pleased to share that Stamford School District has been awarded a grant of $83,700 to support the delivery of mental health services for our students during the summer months.

This funding was awarded under the Connecticut State Department of Education's Summer Mental Health Supports Grant program, which is utilizing money the state received from the federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). To learn more about this funding, please click here

Mental Health Grant

Research has shown that early intervention for mental health concerns can have a profound impact on a student's educational journey. By investing in these services, we are not only supporting our kids but also nurturing a stronger and more resilient community.

I want to express my gratitude to all those involved in securing this grant. I also want to thank our educators, counselors, and mental health professionals who play an invaluable role in supporting our students' emotional well-being.
