September 11 Remembrance in Stamford

September 11, 2025

On September 11, we pause to honor the memory of all the victims and the countless lives forever changed 24 years ago. The attacks that day left an indelible mark in Stamford and the rest of the nation. Our community remembers every city resident whose life was cut tragically short.

The Stamford Fire Department will gather to honor their memory and every life lost in the attacks at 7 p.m. on September 11. We will hold a moment of silence, observe a presentation of colors, and listen to the sounds of "Taps" at Woodside Fire Station 5 located at 1620 Washington Boulevard. The ceremony will include powerful speeches as our community comes together in remembrance, reflection, and solidarity.

May we never forget those whose lives were stolen from us, nor the courage of the first responders, construction crews, service members, and everyday citizens who ran toward danger to save others, and who worked tirelessly in the days and years that followed to help our country rebuild. Their bravery and sacrifice remain a testament to the resilience of the American spirit.

Let us continue to stand together, hold close the memory of those we lost, and ensure that future generations understand the weight of the day and the strength that carried us through it.
