Upgrade and Installation of ATMS Along I-91 and I-29 Begins Next Monday

View this email in your browser Dear Neighbor, There will be various shoulder closures on I-91 and I-291 in Hartford, East Hartford, Manchester, South Windsor, Windsor, and Windsor Locks beginning next Monday, March 30, 2026, to Wednesday, March 17, 2027, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. for upgrades and installation of Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) along I-91 and I-291. Lane closures may also be implemented in the above-noted areas from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Traffic control patterns, crash trucks, arrow boards, and State Troopers will guide motorists through the work zone. Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area. The project will install new trunkline fiber-optic cable in an existing conduit from Route I-91 in Hartford to I-91 at Exit 40 in Windsor. New trunkline fiber-optic and new conduit will be installed on I-291, extending from the I-91 interchange to the I-84 interchange. The project will also install 23 new cameras, including 5 at new locations.
