Spring showers arriving in Hartford are a clear sign we are in the back half of this legislative session.

We are knee-deep into the public hearing season. There are only a couple of weeks left until the committee process finishes up with votes on what should be sent to the leadership teams for consideration to be brought to the floor and voted on as a chamber.

It is a privilege to work for you and represent our district daily. I wish you all a day full of love and kindness.

We were in session on Wednesday to vote on a new special education funding plan that provides $40 million in immediate relief for school districts.

It's been a busy week in Hartford, as my colleagues and I continue to fight for legislation addressing some of the most pressing issues facing our communities.

I would like to start this edition of Bigg News focused on Martin Luther King Jr. There are so many things about his life that are very inspiring, but my favorite quote has to be "Darkness cannot drive out darkness only light can do that.

I was proudly sworn in on Wednesday as the State Representative for the 11th District, serving Manchester and East Hartford. What a moment. Thank you for your trust and faith in me. I won't let you down.
