Expect Delays Due to Work on I-84 and Route 8

Drivers in Waterbury should expect nighttime delays as bridge repair work continues on I-84 and Route 8 for the foreseeable future. Crews will shut down lanes during the project in the following areas:

  • Exit 31 on Route 8 North
  • Exit 17 Chase Parkway on-ramp over I-84
  • South Elm Street over I-84
  • Baldwin Street over I-84

According to the Connecticut Department of Transportation, work will take place nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. until Oct. 9.

Please plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and slow down in work zones to keep construction crews and fellow drivers safe.
