Dear Neighbor,
I'm happy to announce that Haddam is one of ten towns chosen for significant grants that will improve infrastructure. The town is set to receive $782,916 to finish the sidewalks in Haddam Center from Jail Hill Road to the UCONN Extension Center.
Governor Lamont and DOT Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto made the announcement this week that CTDOT is awarding more than $9 million in state grants for transportation infrastructure and safety upgrades in rural communities throughout Connecticut.
The grants are being released through the Transportation Rural Improvement Program (TRIP), a newly created state grant program designed to support rural municipalities, which are often ineligible for many federal transportation programs.
As Haddam works toward revitalizing its downtown, this sidewalk project will make it more pedestrian-friendly.
