2023 Constituent Survey

I am honored to serve as your state representative, and as the new legislative session gets underway, I am once again asking for your help. Because transparency and responsiveness in government are foundational to our democracy, I’m seeking your ideas so I can better serve as your voice at the Capitol.

There are three distinct (but related) aspects to my job: First, I am your liaison to the various State agencies with which you will come in contact. From getting a driver’s license to help with Unemployment Compensation, my legislative aide and I are here to troubleshoot for you.

Second, I am the liaison for our towns’ leaders on such issues as bonding, and funding for our public schools.

Third, my job involves helping to make the laws that govern all our lives. It’s this responsibility which this survey seeks to address. Please take a moment to let me know what you believe is working, what isn’t working, and how we can improve the two-way communication that is vital to civic engagement.

The 2023 Legislative Session runs from Jan. 4 to June 5. In this mailer, I outline a few of my priorities as Vice Chair of the Environment Committee, and as Caucus Majority Whip-at-Large. I also serve on the Internship Committee and this year I joined the Public Health Committee.

Let me know what’s on your radar (and what you think should be on mine).

Thank you, sincerely, for taking the time to complete this survey. I wish you optimism and health in 2023.

If YOU Were in Charge of the Budget:

It takes a lot of money to provide public services, safety and education. As with a household budget, we in government either need to raise revenue or spend less to remain balanced. Folks often say, “Spend less!” but every cut comes out of some worthy program. If you were voting on the state budget, would you vote to spend less, spend the same, or spend more on each of the following programs?
