I hope this message finds you and your family well! This week, the House was in Session Monday through Thursday, and we passed numerous bills, which you can read more about further down in this email. It has been a busy and productive week, from debating on the House Floor to meeting with community members and advocates in the final weeks of the session.

Last week, the House was in session on Wednesday, April 8th and 9th, and will be back next week, Monday through Thursday. As we head into the final weeks of session, my colleagues and I are working tirelessly to pass legislation that will make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents. Over the remaining weeks, I will keep you updated on the work we are doing at the Capitol, and you can follow along live on days the General Assembly is in session on CT-N or YouTube.

Last week, the House convened on Wednesday, March 25th, to vote on judicial appointments and a contract between the state and Connecticut Employees Union Independent (CEUI). The majority of committees have wrapped up most of their work for the session and have passed a wide range of bills out of committee. House Leaders are now working together to decide which bills will be referred to another committee and which will be voted on in the weeks leading up to May 6th.

It was another productive week at the Capitol, with committees working hard in public hearings and passing bills out of the committee. Over the next few weeks, committees will be wrapping up their work for the 2026 session as bills move to the House and Senate floors to be voted on. Last Thursday was a busy day at the Capitol, when the House convened for session, and I joined some of my colleagues to unveil the new specialty license plate honoring the Borinqueneers. I've also included information on how to apply for the last Generation Power Energy Assistance Cycle this season, free tax assistance services, and more.

It was another busy week up in Hartford at the Capitol, as committees have begun holding meetings and public hearings, and I am meeting with state and local officials to discuss the work we are doing this session.

The three committees I serve on, Finance, Revenue and Bonding, Veterans' and Military Affairs, and Commerce, all held meetings this week to raise concepts for the legislative session.

This Wednesday was opening day of the 2026 Legislative session. My colleagues and I are gearing up for a busy short session, working hard to pass critical legislation through May 6th. It is truly an honor and a privilege to serve New Britain in the Connecticut General Assembly.

The Connecticut General Assembly's legislative session is set to begin the first week of February. As we prepare for the legislative session, I want to hear from you all about the issues that matter most to New Britain residents.
