Dear Neighbor,

I want to wish all of our students good luck and a happy, safe 2025-26 school year. I hope all of us enjoy Labor Day weekend. Please be safe. Speaking of safe, I've included an item this week on school bus safety. It is important, as is the law in CT for passing a stopped school bus. I included the details below.

There are a couple of in-district events coming I wanted to bring to your attention, too. The first is the New Britain Community Meeting @ Roma Sports Bar & Grill on Saturday, September 6th. My colleagues and I invite you to discuss and learn more about the community.

I wanted to get the word out early on an event I'm really excited about coming up during National Hispanic Heritage Month.

As always, feel free to call me at 1-800-842-8267 or email me at Manny.Sanchez@cga.ct.gov if you have any questions or concerns. Also, please like my official Facebook Page for regular updates.

Sincerely,

Manny Sanchez

State Representative

Good Luck Students!

Have a great 2025-26 school year!

School Bus Safety

It's an exciting time of the year for our kids and educators who will head back to the classroom soon! I hope every student has an amazing start to the new school year.

This is also a time to remind drivers that the law requires them to slow down for school buses in your neighborhood. Here is the breakdown for any driver who fails to stop when a school bus is displaying its flashing red signal lights:

  • First offense: $450 fine.
  • Following offenses: $500 - $1,000 fine, up to 30 days in jail, or both.

Happy Labor Day!

Labor Day is the day we honor and celebrate the achievements, social and economic, of the American worker as well as the labor movement that fought for better working conditions during the 19th century.

Today, the American worker is under attack by the most anti-worker, anti-labor administration in our history, and just recently, the administration intensified its attacks on the union rights of federal employees at several agencies.

Here in Connecticut, state lawmakers have taken action to protect workers, including strengthening labor laws at the state level and launching programs to mitigate potential changes from the federal government.

We also enhanced wage protections and expanded paid leave. The Office of the Attorney General is in place as an advocate for federal workers facing challenges.

We care about workers in Connecticut, and we stand with them. We will continue to fight back against policies or Executive Orders that would harm them and their families.
