I wanted to share some information and resources in this week's update that may be of help to you, including several car insurance discounts for Connecticut drivers who are at least 60 years of age.

Due to the recent rain and snow, the river is too high for the opening day of the Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry. Please stay tuned for an update as we watch the flood levels.

This is a friendly reminder about the upcoming Coffee Hour event that will be taking place tomorrow at Dream Café located at 154 New Britain Ave. (Lower Level) in Rocky Hill. The event goes from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m., and local students will be joining us.

I just wanted to say that I am so proud that the Rocky Hill Housing Authority will be receiving a Community Development Block Grant for $2 million for the rehabilitation of housing at 36 Willow Road, an integral part of our community.

I wanted to share a couple of fast-approaching events that may interest you as well as an appearance on NBCConnecticut this week to discuss a bill for health insurance for small businesses and nonprofits. As Chair of the Insurance and Real Estate Committee, providing access to quality, affordable health care is one of our top priorities.

There will be a one-hour information session to learn about the Women's Business Development Council (WBDC) Ignite Grant on Thursday, February 1, from noon to 1 p.m. and on Wednesday, February 7th, from 11 a.m. to noon - both via Zoom, are free.
