I was proud to join House Majority Leader Jason Rojas, Department of Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno, Connecticut Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch, and Deputy Commissioner Joseph Danao at a press conference earlier this week to talk about some first-of-its-kind housing at the VA Campus in Rocky Hill! It is exciting to see this project come to fruition.

Last week, the legislature was called into Special Session. What does that mean? It means that the Governor along with House and Senate leaders made a special call to the legislature to bring us in for business that needed statutory changes. Here's what we addressed:

The Connecticut Student Loan Repayment Program incentivizes eligible health care providers to practice full-time in underserved Connecticut communities for at least two years by offering up to $50,000 in student loan repayments. Part-time options are also available for $12,500 per year over two years, totaling $25,000.
