It's been a fast and furious couple of weeks around here with meetings and public hearings. As a member of the Environment, Finance, Revenue and Bonding, and Planning and Development Committees, it's been busy but this is the work I enjoy doing for you, constituents of the 41st district.

We are in the middle of February and the midst of the 2024 session, a short one that ends on May 8th. I had an Environment Committee meeting today and traveled to Massachusetts State House for a summit with Black elected legislators in New England. It was an honor and privilege to represent Connecticut and specifically, Southeastern, CT!

The 2024 legislative session has officially begun! It was wonderful to reconnect with friends and colleagues in the House Chamber. We were joined by many local guests including Stonington First Selectman Danielle Chesebrough and the leadership of the Mystic Aquarium.

On Monday, I met with the Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments to discuss their legislative priorities. As a member of the Environment Committee, I look forward to collaborating with our municipal leaders to tackle our solid waste crisis, especially developing a plan to divert organic materials from our waste stream to composting facilities.

We're closing in on the start of the 2024 legislative session on February 7th. I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind responses regarding the weekly newsletter. The goal is to keep them informative, resourceful, and community-centric.
