Protecting the residents of our state from discrimination in the health insurance market is one of my top priorities and I’m very happy to report that we are continuing to make progress on that issue this legislative session.

The House took action approving a resolution that would include a ballot question to amend the State Constitution to allow for an in-person early voting system. Once the resolution gets final legislative approval, the question will appear on the November 2020 ballot for voters to decide if Connecticut should implement it.

It was great to join with Friends of recently on a cleanup event to show our pride in our great City of Hartford and our historic and beautiful Colt Park.

A bill I introduced will change the process on how speed limits are set. A public hearing was held on House Bill 6590, which would allow cities and towns to control the speed of their own streets without the current bureaucratic red tape.

For over a month, many federal employees have been reporting to work and performing their duties - without pay. The government shutdown affects at least 1,500 Connecticut workers and they are struggling to pay their bills while they wait for their paychecks to resume.
