Below is an update on Connecticut's response to the global spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) during the week of February 15.

Access Health CT's (AHCT) Special Enrollment Period is open now through March 15, 2021 for uninsured residents to obtain quality, affordable health care coverage, particularly those negatively affected by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The federal House of Representatives is currently considering the American Rescue Plan , a COVID relief package that, if passed, will send much-needed aid to towns throughout the country. U.S. Congressman Joe Courtney has provided a town-by-town breakdown of his Congressional District. If implemented, the town of Ellington is set to receive $3,620,231.

In partnership with the state Department of Public Health (DPH), the United Way of Connecticut has announced plans to immediately expand availability and access to vaccine scheduling through the state’s Vaccine Appointment Assist Line.

This past week Governor Lamont issued additional executive orders to address on-going COVID-19 relief.

As we all begin to navigate the upcoming virtual legislative session, I wanted to provide you with the resources to ensure your voice is heard. Though COVID-19 has closed the State Capitol and Legislative Office Building to the public, you can still testify and participate in public hearings from your home.

As many of you know, I serve on the Public Health committee. As the 2021 session continues, I expect that there will be several lively and productive debates, especially surrounding important legislation.
