Tonight, I am cohosting a group discussion about trucks, traffic and trash in the town of Windsor. The event will take place at 6pm in Windsor's Town Hall.

The Summer Olympic Games are set to begin tomorrow, July 23. Six athletes from Connecticut qualified for the games and will represent America in their respective sport. I wanted to take a moment and congratulate them on their accomplishment.

Governor Ned Lamont has announced that applications are now being accepted for the recently created Connecticut College Corps, which aims to recruit college students interested in working at summer enrichment programs as part of the governor’s plan to provide K-12 students and families with engaging enrichment and learning experiences in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced that guiderail upgrades will be performed on Route 75 northbound in Windsor. The project will take place on June 14 and 15.

During Monday's session, SB 837 passed in the House of Representatives. This bill will significantly reduce the use of PFAS, particularly in firefighting foam.

Local businesses are at the heart of every community in Connecticut, but sadly over the past year, they have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19. While a number of great loan and grant programs have been established and implemented to provide aid, many small businesses missed out due to the sheer demand for assistance.

During Thursday's session, the House of Representatives took action on modernizing Connecticut's bottle deposit program to encourage residents to recycle and keep our beautiful parks, beaches and streets clean.
