State Funding for Canton Communications Console Replacement
September 7, 2022In May, the State Bond Commission voted to award the Town of Canton a $550,000 state grant for the replacement of its communications console and to renovate the room in which the console is housed. Tomorrow, I will join the Lt. Governor and local leaders to announce this investment in the Canton Police Department and public safety.
Federal COVID-19 Test By Mail Program to be Suspended
August 31, 2022The federal government is putting a pause on sending free COVID-19 testing kits. Friday, September 2 will be the last day you can order them.
Please visit covid.gov/tests to order free tests. Each household can order up to 16 rapid antigen tests.
Every home in the U.S. can request 3 orders of free at-home tests (16 tests total) per residential address. Residents who would like to request free COVID-19 tests must place an order by Friday, September 2.
CTDOL Alerting Consumers of Unemployment Text Scam

Public Service Loan Forgiveness Informational Session on Wednesday
August 22, 2022The U.S. Department of Education has implemented temporary changes to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program rules that make it easier for federal student loan borrowers to receive credit for past periods of repayment that would otherwise not qualify for forgiveness. These changes end on October 31, 2022. After this date, normal PSLF rules will apply.

Less Than a Week Left to Apply for CT Child Tax Payments
July 27, 2022There's still time to apply for Connecticut's Child Tax Payments! Income eligible parents who had a child born before January 1, 2022 can receive a maximum payment of $250 per child up to 3 children. The tax payment is available to single parents who earned $100,000 or less and married households that made less than $200,000 during the 2021 tax year.
