Student Loan Reimbursement Program Rolls Out in January

Starting January 1, Connecticut college students will be able to benefit from a bill we passed to alleviate student loan debt. The reimbursement program, led by House Democrats and the first of its kind in the nation, provides up to $5,000/year for up to four years (up to $20,000) in loan forgiveness. Six million dollars has been allocated in the current budget cycle and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Funding for CT Rail Projects

Connecticut is ready to improve its railways after receiving approximately $291 million from the federal government. The money comes from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. Additionally, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will provide $120 million, and Amtrak will contribute $11.7 million to a number of rail projects across the state.

Election Day is Next Tuesday

Reminder - Election Day will be on Tuesday, November 5. CT residents will have the option to vote early through through Sunday, November 3. The polling locations will be open from 10 AM - 6 PM. The polls will be open from from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.
