I am still excited about the turnout we had for the Norwich Public Schools Back to School Bash at Kelly Magnet Middle School on Saturday. It went well. As I mentioned previously, we handed out more than 1,400 backpacks, and I would like to thank all who pitched in to help.

I am proud to share that the Norwich Public Schools Back to School Bash held at Kelly Steam Magnet Middle School on Saturday was quite a success! Folks, we handed out more than 1,400 backpacks, and there were over 250 haircuts done - all for free.

Connecticut's annual Sales Tax-Free Week begins on Sunday, August 18 and runs through Saturday, August 24. It provides a chance to save money, whether it is taking the kids back-to-school shopping or treating yourself or your loved ones.

I am proudly sending a reminder about an event I am hosting with State Sen. Cathy Osten later this month.

The Connecticut Education Association (CEA), the state's largest group of public school teachers, has a "Report Card" system that evaluates legislators’ voting records, advocacy, and efforts to advance the organization's priorities over the two-year legislative cycle, including preserving collective bargaining, protecting pensions and supporting policies that enhance public education.
