I strongly oppose Eversource’s proposal to increase electric bills for Connecticut residents by approximately $25 per month. At a time when working families, seniors, and small businesses are already being squeezed from every direction, asking them to pay even more for electricity is simply wrong.

The days (and nights) are long, but the session is short. We're in the home stretch of the session, and we have taken up numerous pieces of legislation, including the budget, transportation, gun violence reduction, no-excuse absentee ballots, and vaccines, among other things. 

We are about to enter the busiest stretch of the legislative session, with just three weeks remaining before adjournment on May 6.

We are at the point in our legislative session when our committees are officially completing our work and voting our bills out for further action.

This week marked the 40th anniversary of the Challenger space shuttle disaster. I was 12 years old.

A major snowstorm is predicted this weekend. With climate change a reality, these weather events are expected to happen with greater frequency and intensity. 

This has been a hard year for many in our community. Families are feeling the pressure of everyday expenses, small businesses are navigating constant change, and so many of us are carrying the strain of chaos and division coming from the federal level. It’s a lot to hold. In moments like these, I believe deeply in the importance of steady leadership, shared values, and the simple but powerful act of looking out for one another.

Access Health CT (AHCT), Connecticut’s official health insurance marketplace, experienced intermittent website outages on Monday, Dec. 15, that impacted customers who wanted to enroll by that date to have coverage starting Jan. 1. The website has been fully restored and is now available for eligible Connecticut residents to enroll in coverage.
