Hey Neighbors!

I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving! I know that holidays are not easy for everyone, and many of us are facing challenges that make it difficult to feel celebratory. I am taking this opportunity to reflect on my own gratitude, which, of course, is for my children and my partner, my family and close friends, and also for each of you. It is a genuine privilege to serve as your State Representative, and I am deeply thankful for your trust in me to continue to do so.

Transportation House Chair Appointment

I am so proud to announce that I have been appointed as House Chair of the Transportation Committee by Speaker of the House Matt Ritter and Majority Leader Jason Rojas. The scope of the committee is broad, but when we direct our focus toward ensuring the highest levels of driver and pedestrian safety, and improving our infrastructure and public transportation, we are certain to positively impact every resident and community in Connecticut. I look forward to collaborating with the Department of Transportation, the Department of Motor Vehicles, and other related agencies, as well as municipal leaders and residents, to continue our work toward that endeavor.

Click It or Ticket Campaign

The Connecticut Department of Transportation will begin their annual Click It or Ticket campaign tomorrow through Friday, Dec. 6.

The goal of the program is to boost seat belt use and protect the public during the busy holiday travel season.

In 2022, 326 passenger vehicle occupants lost their lives over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, with nearly half not wearing their seat belts.

These deaths are tragic in part because they are so preventable. With law enforcement out in force in Connecticut to issue citations to those not wear seat belts this holiday season, do the right thing and buckle up.

Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday, which takes place two day after Thanksgiving, shines a spotlight on locally owned businesses. It encourages folks to shop small and support their communities during the busy holiday shopping season.

By participating, you can find unique, personalized gifts while contributing to the local economy by keeping money within their community. Small Business Saturday fosters a sense of connection, strengthening neighborhoods and ensuring that local businesses, which are often the heart of their communities, continue to thrive.
