OUT N' ABOUT IN THE 41ST DISTRICT
Howling for a greener future! Olive and Lola were on a mission for Climate Action Now at The Ditty Bag Market and Cafe this week.

It was very cool to read that the Lyman Allyn Art Museum is hosting an exhibition by the incredibly talented Puerto Rican artist, Imna Arroyo!

Her uniquely expressive Afro-Caribbean art has captivated audiences worldwide with exhibitions in the United States, including my family’s homelands of Panama and Puerto Rico, Cuba, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. It is great to have her talent showcased locally at Lyman Allyn! To check it out and learn more, please click

EXTENDING HEARTFELT GRATITUDE
(Connecticut Public)

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to President Biden for his unwavering dedication and love for our country. By stepping out of the race, he put our country first, continuing to demonstrate his commitment to our shared future.

As we acknowledge his selfless act, let's still remember the cornerstone of our democracy: the power of our vote. Every voice matters, and every vote counts. Our free democracy depends on our active participation. Let's continue to uphold this sacred duty, ensuring our voices are heard and our rights protected.

HONORING EDUCATORS AT STONINGTON BLESSING

OF THE FLEET ON SUNDAY

The 2024 Stonington Blessing of the Fleet will honor the town’s fishing heritage and commemorate those lost at sea on Sunday. The Fisherman's Mass begins at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Church, 22 Broad Street, in Stonington.

The Mass will be followed by a procession from the Town Dock at 1 High Street, through Stonington Borough. After the procession, the Bishop of Norwich will bless all fishing boats following a short ceremony at the Town Dock. Food, soft drinks, and music at the Town Dock until 4 p.m.

(Westerly Sun)

This year, Empire Fisheries will celebrate local educators by inviting them aboard the Fishing Vessel Furious for the cruise into Stonington Harbor for the wreath-laying ceremony.

Empire Fisheries will be joined by faculty and staff from the Williams-Mystic Ocean and Coastal Studies Program of Williams College and Mystic Seaport Museum, as well as Amanda Volpe who was recently named Stonington’s Teacher of the Year. Volpe is an Academic Interventionist at Deans Mill School and a Stonington native with family ties to the fishing fleet.
