Updates from State Rep. Larry Butler for Jan. 9, 2026
January 9, 2026The Generation Power CT (GPCT) Emergency Energy Assistance Program, which opened on Jan. 2, has extended its deadline to apply by a day. People now have until Sunday, Jan. 11, 11:59 p.m. to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to help eligible Connecticut households with electric, gas, or fuel expenses. GPCT said it is extending the deadline to provide a little extra time for people to apply or finish their applications for this critical benefit.
