It was great to be back in the House chamber this week with my colleagues. In the coming weeks, the State House and Senate will be meeting much more frequently to give final passage to bills that advanced through committees.

March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions women have made to our communities, our state, and our nation. Here in Connecticut, countless women have shaped our history through leadership, innovation, advocacy, and perseverance.

The Connecticut Family Support Network is partnering with Executive Leadership and its CEO, Atneciv Rodriguez, to host “Tax Tips for Families with Disabled Dependents.”

Educator Carolyn Highsmith has been selected as Waterbury's 2026 African American Mayor for a Day.

Dr. Martin Luther King delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech during the March on Washington in 1963 for jobs, freedom, civil rights, and an end to racism.

The Generation Power CT (GPCT) Emergency Energy Assistance Program, which opened on Jan. 2, has extended its deadline to apply by a day. People now have until Sunday,  Jan. 11, 11:59 p.m. to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to help eligible Connecticut households with electric, gas, or fuel expenses. GPCT said it is extending the deadline to provide a little extra time for people to apply or finish their applications for this critical benefit.

First, I want to wish everyone a happy, safe and healthy new year. I'm looking forward to a productive 2026 representing Waterbury at the State Capitol.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for allowing me to represent you in the Connecticut General Assembly.

It has been an honor and a gift to be able to do this work on your behalf. As we move forward together into 2026, may the days ahead bring healing, hope, and renewed purpose. I wish you happy holidays — however you celebrate — and a peaceful, healthy start to the year ahead.
