Children's Mental Health Public Hearing Scheduled

I've heard from many in our community about the priority of the mental health and well-being of our state's youth and families. While we saw a rise in depression, anxiety, self-harm, and other forms of distress in young people prior to the pandemic, the increased isolation and uncertainty that has come from the past two years has worsened this issue. My colleagues and I have worked collaboratively on a bipartisan bill to provide additional support, resources and structural change to the children's mental health system in Connecticut.

West Hartford Receives Funding for New Britain Ave Clean-Up

January 13, 2022

Last week, the Town of West Hartford received $953,646 to remediate the former Puritan Furniture Store located at 1051 and 1061 New Britain Avenue. West Hartford was one of only 13 communities chosen for this competitive grant. The funding will be used to clean-up the site for the proposed construction of a 131-unit mixed-income, mixed-use transit-oriented development.
