April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) has launched a statewide distracted Driving Awareness and Enforcement Campaign to Keep Connecticut Roads Safe.

Starting Wednesday, May 7, you will need a REAL ID, U.S. Passport, or U.S. Passport Card to board domestic flights or access certain federal facilities (such as military bases and other federal buildings).

The 4th Annual CGA Kickball Classic is coming up in May. I hope you'll join us and help support Connecticut Foodshare!

Three new state housing programs are designed to help increase homeownership opportunities throughout Connecticut.

The state is investing $30 million into the new "CT Home Funds" program to provide qualifying residents and developers with grants and loans for home improvement, rehabilitation as well as new construction.

Homeownership is not only a life goal of working families, but it helps create stable and strong communities.

On Friday, I had the opportunity to join a fellow member of the CGA's Veterans' & Military Affairs Committee, State Representative Chris Poulos, for an Annual Veterans Coffee Hour & Resource Discussion in Southington.
Joining us were John Carragher of Connecticut Veterans Affairs & Major General Francis Evon of The Connecticut National Guard. They shared valuable updates & resources with the 80+ veterans in attendance.
