On Monday, I attended a press conference that announced bonding for projects in the Town of Windsor. I was joined by Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, State Representative Maryam Khan, Windsor Town Manager Peter Souza, Windsor Mayor Donald Trinks, and Windsor Deputy Mayor Lisa Bress.

Today, we officially welcomed the newest member of the Windsor delegation. Maryam Khan was sworn in as the State Representative for the 5th House District after winning the special election last week. She will represent Hartford as well as Windsor. I am thrilled to have Rep. Khan as a colleague and look forward to collaborating with her in the new future. Welcome Rep. Khan!

The Aging Committee will hold a public hearing on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. via Zoom. The public hearing can be viewed via YouTube Live. In addition, the public hearing may be recorded and broadcast live on CT-N.com.

The mental health and well-being of our state's youth and families has been a leading priority of mine. While we saw a rise in depression, anxiety, self-harm, and other forms of distress in young people prior to the pandemic, the increased isolation and uncertainty that has come from the past two years has exacerbated this issue.

Breeze Airways has selected Bradley International Airport to establish its fifth base of operations. This move will create over 200 local jobs - the airline will hire local pilots, flight attendants, and mechanics; and fly new routes. Additionally, Breeze will permanently house their aircrafts at the airport. This is a great victory for Connecticut - this move not only will provide local residents with employment opportunities, but it expands the state's connection to other places around the country. February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, and Interval House is making a new toolkit available to schools and parents with free educational resources in English and Spanish.
