November is Heating Assistance Awareness Month
November 15, 2024Colder temperatures will soon give way to higher heating bills. November is Heating Assistance Awareness Month in Connecticut, and I wanted to inform residents about several programs available that can help pay or lower their heating bills this winter.
Whether it be state assistance, protection from shutoff service, financial assistance programs, or energy efficiency, there is a plan for everyone.
Access Health CT Open Enrollment Begins
November 1, 2024Access Health CT (AHCT) announces that its Open Enrollment period begins Friday, November 1 and ends January 15, 2025. Connecticut residents can shop, compare, and enroll in health insurance plans or renew their coverage. Customers may also enroll in dental insurance through AHCT.

New Laws Effective July 1
July 8, 2024Several new laws that address many issues aimed at improving our great state became effective on July 1st.
HB 5491 Signed into Law
June 20, 2024Public Act 24-46 has been signed into law, effective October 1, 2024. This new legislation provides a property tax exemption for veterans with a service-connected permanent and total disability rating as determined by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. As a Navy veteran, I was proud to cosponsor this important bill, which passed unanimously in both chambers of the General Assembly.
