As part of celebrating National Farmers' Market week, we encourage you to visit your local farmers' market to pick up and enjoy locally grown food.

Whether it's a video streaming service, a monthly delivery or a traditional magazine subscription, companies make it easy to sign up, but a lot harder to cancel – that is changing.

When the votes were cast during the 2026 legislative session, I was there for all of them.

The 91% score comes from several factors: voting record, advocacy, and efforts to advance CEA priorities. CEA priorities include enhancing the teaching profession, protecting pensions and benefits, preserving collective bargaining, and supporting sound education policy that enhances public education.

Protecting our environment should never be a partisan issue. Clean water, healthy ecosystems, and safe places for our families to live, work, and enjoy the outdoors are goals we all share. Particularly since we live in the beautiful lower river valley. I believe this is one issue where we can find common ground.

As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, this 4th of July carries special significance.

Several new state laws that we passed during the 2026 legislative session will take effect on July 1.

Juneteenth – June 19 – commemorates and celebrates the end of slavery in the United States, but the important history of this now state and federal holiday was not widely known for many years.
