A beautiful tribute and ceremony last night for the opening of the Healing Field in honor of the victims of 9/11, armed forces members who have given their lives defending our country, all first responders, COVID heroes, and the servicemen and women who protect our country and keep us safe.

Today we announced $770,000 in state bonding that I secured with @senatorcohenct to rebuild the sea wall at Garvan Point—a critical step for climate resilience here in Madison.

I’d like to share a video that is the result of many conversations and multiple forums I’ve had over the last few months with educators, counselors, parents, students, clinicians, and mental health providers about the unique challenges students are facing now, and what we can do to support them.

As teachers, students, and families rush toward the end of the year and local businesses get ready for the busy summer season ahead, the Connecticut General Assembly is also in high gear, working hard to finish up our business before the end of our session on June 9.

This morning I had the honor of saying the Pledge of Allegiance to open what turned out to be an incredibly important day in the Connecticut House of Representatives.

Last week we held a press conference to introduce the Connecticut Future Caucus! This bipartisan group of legislators age 45 and under will focus on finding solutions to the issues facing the next generation of Americans, reinvigorating the spirit of collaboration in the political body that’s closest to the people of Connecticut.

As the days grow longer and warmer and we see more and more signs of spring—and brighter days—ahead, we share in the continued highs and lows of 2021: on one hand, the increase in COVID-19 vaccinations and careful loosening of restrictions from restaurants to businesses to schools; and on the other, the tragic loss of life in Atlanta last week and the deeply troubling rise in crime against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders that these murders have shone a light on.
