Update on Raymark clean-up site in Stratford

June 10, 2020

The landscaper has completed planting along the residential side of Barrier no. 1 (behind Cottage Place) and Barrier no.2 (behind Clinton Ave). Plantings include a mix of pine trees, leafy trees and shrubs.  The landscaper has added mulch and an irrigation system.  Please see the attached photos.

Eagle fencing continued installing sound dampening blankets along Barrier no 2 and will be complete this week.

Zoppo completed installing the post foundations for Barrier no. 3 (behind Patterson Ave and along Frog Pond Lane) and expects to have all posts installed this week. They began installing panels and will have some grading to do. The landscaper will continue placing loom and plantings along Barrier no. 3.

Tantara continued bringing clean fill material to the former Contract Plating property for construction of the haul road.  Active wetting is performed to minimize dust generation. Note this is “clean” fill, not Raymark Waste. There are about 45 trucks per day entering and leaving the site. All truck traffic entering and leaving the work area is required to enter the former Contract Plating Property from the Barnum Ave side of Longbrook Ave, however there will be times when trucks come down Longbrook Ave from Main Street due to temporary closure of the Longbrook Ave bridge over the railroad tracks. These trucks either contain clean fill or are empty."

NOTE: Consistent with public health recommendations due to the spread of the coronavirus, Community Advisory Group meetings related to the clean-up have been suspended until further notice.
