Rep. Gresko named chair of Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee
House Speaker-designate Matt Ritter (D-Hartford) announced the appointment of Rep. Joseph P. Gresko (D-Stratford) as the chair of the Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee.
"I am extremely grateful to Speaker-designate Ritter and Majority Leader Rojas for placing their trust in me to lead this committee," said Rep. Gresko. "By making sure we give every nominee a fair and thorough hearing, this committee has the ability to ensure nominees make decisions and policies with the interests of the people of Connecticut in mind. Our first order of business in the new session will be to tackle the backlog of nominations which built up due to the suspension of operations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic."
The Executive and Legislative Nominations Committee is responsible for overseeing all nominations requiring action of either or both chambers of the General Assembly (except judicial nominations, nominations of workers' compensation commissioners and nominations of members of the Board of Pardons and Paroles).
Rep. Gresko was first elected to represent the 121st District in the House of Representatives in 2016. In addition to chairing the Executive and Legislation Nominations Committee, Rep. Gresko will also serve as vice chair of the Environment Committee and will sit on the Energy and Technology Committee.
