An Act Concerning Telehealth & Early Voting in CT Elections

May 5, 2021

During Tuesday's session, the Connecticut House of Representatives unanimously voted in favor of H.B. 5596An Act Concerning Telehealth.  If passed by the Senate and signed by the Governor, this bill would extend telehealth benefits for Connecticut residents for the next two years.

Telehealth services have been immensely beneficial to both patients and providers during this pandemic and has been crucial to our most vulnerable residents. Because of the extension, individuals in the state will have access to in-depth healthcare from the comfort of their home as we transition out of the pandemic.

Quality healthcare is important, especially during a global pandemic. Telehealth services ensure that all patients have access to effective assistance from their provider, whether it be in-person or virtually.

Early Voting in CT Elections

Your vote is your voice and your right. Demand a say on how and when you cast your ballot and speak out in support of HJ 59.

The resolution proposes a constitutional amendment to allow for in-person early voting. Connecticut is currently only one of six states that do not allow for some form of early voting.

If the resolution passes the House and Senate, it will appear as a constitutional question on the 2022 general election ballot. This means that you, along with all other eligible voters in Connecticut, would have the final say in whether our state becomes the 45thstate to allow early voting.

H.J. 59 is part of our strong push this session to make voting more accessible, convenient and safe for all eligible voters in Connecticut.
