House Passes HB 6626

May 12, 2021

Early detection of breast cancer saves lives! Today, the Legislature assured increased access to early detection services.

The Connecticut House of Representatives  passed HB 6626 - An Act Concerning Required Health Insurance and Medicaid Coverage, Ambulance  Services and Cost Transparency – a bill I co-sponsored with near universal support.

The bill expands upon existing legislation to make it easier for residents to have access to mammograms.  This bill also provides support for additional tests used to detect breast cancer.

Early detection is incredibly important in an individual's fight against breast cancer. The earlier the disease is detected, the more likely a better outcome. Catching breast cancer early also reduces healthcare costs for all of us.  This bill demonstrates our continued support for accessible healthcare for all.

As always, I’m eager to hear from you about how Hartford can help Westport.  Please feel free to contact me with your ideas and concerns.
