Mansfield Instructor is 2022 CT Teacher of the Year

Mansfield welcomed Governor Lamont Thursday where he announced that elementary school art teacher Kim King has been named Connecticut’s Teacher of the Year! Ms. King teaches art to preschool through 4th-grade students at Mansfield's Southeast Elementary and Annie E. Vinton schools.

This honor recognizes Ms. King's passion and commitment to her young students – and Mansfield Public Schools for providing quality education through the excellent work of its teachers, administrators, and staff. Congratulations to Ms. King.

In making the announcement, Governor Lamont said Ms. King's achievement should not be understated.

Ms. King was chosen for the award by the Connecticut Teacher of the Year Council and community representatives. She holds a master's degree in art education from New York University. Ms. King will represent Connecticut in the 2022 National Teacher of the Year contest.
