More Services Available on DMV Website

October 21, 2022

Your visit to the DMV website just got easier! As part of the state's efforts to reduce in-person visits and wait times at DMV offices, the DMV website will provide more streamlined services and more online service options for residents. The newly updated website will also offer expanded language options including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.

In the coming weeks, Connecticut residents will be able to request refunds when canceling vehicle and vessel registrations and replacing lost titles. Until now, these services can only be completed using paper forms. Through these efforts, DMV wait times have dramatically decreased. Today, wait times are less than 15 minutes, on average.

WORKSHOP ON FLOOD MITIGATION AND FEMA PROGRAMS

The Western Connecticut Council of Governments (WestCOG) has launched a Regional Flood Mitigation Assistance Program to help property owners make their homes and businesses more resilient against flooding. With more intense storms, there has been an increase in property damage. The program can help property owners relocate to a safer location or make improvements to withstand flood events.

WestCOG and Dewberry, an engineering firm experienced in disaster recovery, will host an informational session to introduce the FEMA flood grant programs and answer questions about the application process. The information session will be held on Thursday, October 27 at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th Floor of the Stamford Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd. The event will be recorded and can be viewed at www.westcog.org. If you are interested in attending the information session or learning more about the grant program, please contact Todd Fontanella, WestCOG Senior Planner, at 475-323-2076 or tfontanella@westcog.org.
