Opening Day of the 2023 Legislative Session
January 4, 2023The 2023 Legislative Session opened at the State Capitol on Wednesday, and before we adjourn on June 7, new laws aimed at improving the quality of life in Connecticut will be passed and a state budget for the next two years will be adopted.
Much of what gets proposed, debated and voted on during the next five months begins with ideas shared by constituents.
That is why I encourage you to participate in the legislative process by making your voice heard. There are many ways to get involved such as testifying on legislation that comes before the various committees. You can also simply call me at (860) 240-8735 or email Gary.Turco@cga.ct.gov to share your opinion on a particular issue or specific bill of interest.
I also invite you to visit the beautiful State Capitol and Legislative Office Building to take a tour, observe a committee meeting or public hearing, or witness the full House in session.
I would love to have you stop by and say hi!
