Let's Talk About It: Fire Chief Lloyd Niles Honored

May 5, 2023

On my weekly public affairs show, “Let’s Talk About It," we congratulated former Windham Center Fire Chief Lloyd Niles for his recent induction into the Connecticut Firefighters Association Hall of Fame (HOF). He is the first resident from Windham to receive this impressive honor. His goal is to get more firefighters from Windham County into the HOF.

Chief Niles has done some amazing work over all his years serving the community. He has more than 50 years of active experience in Windham including serving as chief of the Windham Center Fire Department for 14 years. He was instrumental in getting the state-of-the-art Eastern Connecticut Fire Training School in town. It is the only facility in our part of the state providing that critical education.

We commend Chief Niles for his strong character and commitment to public service in Windham. We presented him with a citation from the Connecticut General Assembly for his dedication to helping others.
