I fully support my colleague State Rep. Maryam Khan (D-Hartford, South Windsor, Windsor) as she heroically and harrowingly recounted the recent assault against her as she attended Eid services in Hartford with her family and children. 

It was upsetting to listen to Rep. Khan, but I stand in solidarity with her any my other colleagues during this unimaginably difficult time.

Rep. Khan has asked the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate her attack. She also called Harford Police's response into question and claimed that officers did not treat the incident seriously. This is simply unacceptable, and we must hold our police officers accountable.

Please keep Rep. Khan in your prayers as she heals physically and emotionally from this terrible incident.
