I'm excited to share with you that Regional School District 19 has been awarded a grant of $50,000 to expand dual credit offerings. Dual credit offerings enable more high school students to earn college credits prior to graduation through partnerships formed between high schools and public and private colleges and universities. Accumulating college credits in high school can help students get a jump start in their postsecondary program while also saving money.  

This funding was awarded through the CT Department of Education's Dual Credit Expansion Grant Program. A total amount of $3.8 million was allocated to 83 applicants representing 89 school districts. 

I want to express my deepest gratitude to Governor Lamont, Commissioner Russell-Tucker, and the Speaker of the House for helping secure this funding. Your tireless efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of our students and the future of Regional School District 19.
