Preventing Human Trafficking

June 26, 2017

I am proud that last year Connecticut became the first state to require hotel workers to be trained in detecting and reporting human trafficking. Connecticut is serving as a model and a leader for states around the country fighting this horrific crime.

The law requires that employees at the more than 500 hotels, motels and lodges in the state must receive anti-trafficking training by Oct. 1.

I supported this law as it made its way through the House and will continue to fight against this illegal activity.

I invite you to read this article about how Connecticut is helping to prevent human trafficking.
